If your child requires a special diet for medical or cultural reasons or as a lifestyle choice such as vegetarian or vegan, we can offer a range of options.
Use this service to request:
- a medically prescribed diet
- a cultural diet
- a lifestyle diet
Before you start
For a medically prescribed diet meal request you'll be asked to provide evidence e.g. a hospital referral letter detailing the dietary requirement or similar, or a letter or signature form you GP/healthcare professional.
Eligibility criteria
You can request a specialist menu for your child if they attend a nursery or family centre, primary or secondary school in East Renfrewshire.

What happens next?
After submitting the required form, you'll receive details about suitable menus. Depending on the request, you may be contacted by the Special Diets team.
It's your responsibility to inform the Special Diets team of any changes to your child's dietary requirements.
