Assessing your need for care

Find out about the HSCP Supporting People Framework

What is the Supporting People Framework?

The Supporting People Framework introduces a universal approach to risk, the things that worry you or make it more difficult for you to live the way you want. Supporting carers is a key priority for us and we apply a similar framework to consider the level of support needs for carers.

The framework has been drawn up using research and evidence-based practice, and informs how we can support you in a way that is clear and fair.

How we assess you

East Renfrewshire HSCP remains committed to supporting each individual in the way that is right for them. We want to be open, honest and fair in the way we treat everyone and help you understand what you can expect from us if you need support.

With our new Supporting People Framework we will focus our resources on those individuals who have been assessed as having 'moderate' to 'critical' levels of support needs.

We will continue to assist anyone assessed as having 'low' level support needs to build their support network through community and universal services. We hope that providing early help and community support will help to maintain people's independence and wellbeing.
