Apply for East Renfrewshire Renewable Energy Fund

Find out what type of project is eligible and how to apply for money.

Applications for the 2019 funding have now closed. The fund will reopen to applications in Summer 2020.

What is The East Renfrewshire Renewable Energy Fund (ERREF)?

The fund aims to help projects that benefit East Renfrewshire communities.

The money comes from renewable energy projects in East Renfrewshire. 

We run the fund with contributions from:

  • ScottishPower Renewables
  • Whitelee Windfarm
  • Middleton Windfarm

Who can apply? 

Any eligible East Renfrewshire projects with a minimum of cost of £20,000. 

Projects need to meet one of more of these priorities:

Community facilities and services

For example:

  • hall refurbishment
  • buying equipment and vehicles

Community or local events

For example:

  • summer fairs
  • special events

Environmental projects

For example:

  • planting trees
  • building baths

Heritage projects 

For example:

  • history trails
  • statue conservation

Skills and employment

For example:

  • training equipment

Sport and recreation

For example:

  • upgrading play areas
  • buying sports equipment

Youth and education 

For example:

  • clubs 
  • brownies
  • nursery and school projects
