Preparations for Eastwood HQ refurbishment under way
Employees and councillors will relocate to a range of other council buildings during the works

The council's work to upgrade the facilities at Eastwood HQ is now under way, with the building set to close for refurbishment at the end of September.
Renovation work was agreed by councillors to ensure the civic home of the council remained fit for purpose for at least the next 20 years.
Built in 1980, the building has not benefited from any significant investment or upgrades to much of its core infrastructure since its construction.
Many of the building's original fittings remain, including windows, employee welfare facilities, internal finishes, ICT and electrical infrastructure.
To ensure the building can continue to deliver for employees and residents, the upgrades will include accessibility upgrades to the chamber, electrical and ICT improvements, window replacements, bathroom refurbishments, and installation of shower facilities.
Whilst the work is carried out, employees and councillors will relocate to a range of other council buildings, including in Barrhead, Spiersbridge, and Eastwood House
From 22 September Customer First and Registration services will be relocated to our Spiersbridge office, which is located at 2 Spiersbridge Way, within Spiersbridge Business Park, Thornliebank. Residents will be able to contact services by the normal methods and book appointments, where appropriate, with ample parking and disabled access available.
Councillors will be based at Eastwood House, although their telephone numbers will remain unchanged.
The meeting of Full Council on 25 September will be held in Eastwood HQ and following this date all council and committee meetings will be held at Eastwood House. Due to limited space, there will be no public gallery. However, Full Council meetings will continue to be webcast live and published on the council's YouTube channel. Committee meetings will be recorded and published on the Council's YouTube channel.
It is expected that Eastwood HQ renovations will be completed and the building fully reopened, and public services returning to the building, by July 2026. At this time, the council will also move out of the currently leased Spiersbridge office, which will provide significant long-term savings.
