Information about Housing Options and how we can help you.

When you contact us regarding a housing problem, we'll look in detail at your housing options and choices.

Our aim is to offer effective and relevant housing advice at the earliest possible stage, which will let you make choices about what option is best for you.

The options we discuss with you will be tailored to your individual circumstances and might include social rented housing as well as the private rented sector.

While our approach is often applied to those who are homeless or threatened with homelessness, it's also relevant to those who've accommodation, but wish to move or are having problems in their current accommodation. 

Our approach allows us early intervention to prevent homelessness wherever possible but if you're homeless or threatened with homelessness within 56 days, we must offer you the opportunity to open and submit a homeless application, which you've the right to reject or withdraw from.

We can also provide advice and information in personal circumstances that may not necessarily be housing related, such as financial difficulties or problems between family members.

This is why we work with other services such as employability, health, money advice and family mediation to assist you with issues that might result in a housing crisis.
